Watch When Lanes Merge Online

Posted by barbara in Uncategorized, celebrities, entertainment on August 8th, 2010 |  No Comments »

When Lanes Merge is another TVB drama which I cannot wait to watch. I am a big fan of Kent Cheng and I heard this is the first time that Raymond Wong is given the lead actor role.  I have always like Raymond’s acting.   I hope this drama will open more doors for him.  My other favorite casts include Lee Heung Kam, Kate Tsui and Sonija Kwok.

Synopsis

Rushing along the road every day with a vibrant mix of passengers of all kinds, what taxi drivers see and hear is far more varied than one can ever imagine. Retired taxi driver HO KAU (Kent Cheng) returns to the job after his son HO KA-PO (Raymond Wong) is convicted of causing death by dangerous driving. The incident has exacerbated the already fractious relationship between the father and the son. PO works for KAU after his release from prison. Before long, he has another serious road accident, in which KAU is also involved and severely injured, both mentally and physically. PO feels so guilty towards his father and comes to understand the importance of careful driving. He maintains a high degree of vigilance while driving but still gets picked on constantly by female traffic police officer KO LAI-SAM (Kate Tsui). As time goes by, the pair have gradually developed a strong attachment to each other and finally become lovers. But PO’s ex-girlfriend CHEUNG HIU-MAN (Sonija Kwok) and SAM’s grandmother KO LI SHUK-CHING (Lee Heung Kam) turn out to be the biggest obstacle to their relationship, leaving the pair stranded in dismay along the tunnel of love…

Chic Waste Baskets

I was looking for some chic waste basket for my office when I came across some really cool ones from The Container Store.   They are the Makati Waste paper Baskets made from stripped and sun-bleached bark of the Abaca tree.  I love it because it adds a touch of earthy tone to my office.  Not only are they chic, they are eco-friendly and strong.   The Makati Waste just perfect for waste paper, magazines, newspapers, books, shoes, toys, towels, toilet tissue and I can even store my phaser 8560 inks in them.

Oh my goodness.  I have just seen the most gorgeous shoe collection. Those shoes are enough to send me to shoe heaven!  I love every pair they have.   These shoes are from Chie Mihara for the Fall.   As much as I love summer, I can’t wait for Fall to arrive because of them.  They are so pretty that I think I would need to get a deadbolt lock to keep them safely in my shoe closet.  Ok, let me show you which ones that I have laid my eyes on.

What Goes With Clogs?

Posted by barbara in shoes, women on August 1st, 2010 |  No Comments »

I never like the platform shoes when I was growing up.  I used to wonder why would anyone wear such an “ugly-looking” shoe.  Well, what do you know?  I finally succumbed to the latest fashion and bought myself a pair of tan clog wedge from Clarks.  They are the so comfortable to wear.  However, I have a problem though.  What kind of fashion goes well with a clog wedge?  If mine were open-toed, then I know I can wear it with a pair of shorts.  However mine is like the photo below (I can’t find a picture of the Clarks clog wedge).  Besides denim, what else can you wear with a pair of clogs like these?

Jolie-Pitts Kids Are Awesomely Stylish

Angelina Jolie was spotted travelling around the world to promote her new movie “Salt”.  This pic was taken at the Tokyo airport with 4 of her 6 children.  I love how the Jolie-Pitts children are dressed.  Maddox looked very cute with mohawked hair, white tank top and cargo pants.  I love Zahara’s outfit which is an all-white ensemble with a bright yellow cardi.   Shiloh looked preppy in a collared t-shirt and white pants while Pax wore a smart khaki suit with matching shades.  This is what they call “Travelling In Style”.  I wonder where the twins are.

Plus Size Summer Clothes

I was browsing some online stores on my Asus and came across some cool summer clothes for plus size women.  Nowadays, big beautiful women do not have to look frumpy in oversized t-shirts or boring long flowing skirts for the summer.   There are many stylish and chic summer clothing available. Below are a few flattering pieces for women to show off their curves.

Accessorize Your Outfit With Colorful Necklaces

Necklaces are a great way to spruce up an outfit. They can turn a simple outfit such as plain t-shirt into a fashion statement.  It can even add colour or brightness to your outfit.   Necklaces can also make your neck and upper body appear thinner. This versatile accessory comes in a variety of style and designs.  So if you feel that your outfit is a bit drab, well don’t worry.  Just put on a necklace for the final touch to your look.  I love chunky necklaces and I have found some really gorgeous pieces at Elva Fields.

The Colourful World of Sister Fa

Charmaine Sheh is scheduled to star as a mentally challenged character in an upcoming TVB series named “The Colourful World of Sister Sa”. This drama will also star Raymond Lam Fung as a spoilt-rich heir.  Charmaine will be acting as delivery girl for a restaurant and she has the mentality of a 10-year old girl.  Charmaine’s role in this inspiring tale is very high profile and may increase her chances of being taking the Best Actress award again.   Over the years, actors such as Roger Kwok Chung On gained popularity when he portrayed a mentally challenged character in “Square Pegs” and “Life Made Simple”.  I really enjoyed those two dramas and I must say that Roger Kwok did very well in the dramas.  I cannot wait to watch Charmaine Sheh in her first role as a mentally challenged person.

Getting Jeggings With It

Posted by barbara in fashion on July 13th, 2010 |  No Comments »

Psst…have you heard about Jeggings?  Everyone is talking about it.  I just found out today.  Jeggings (jeans leggings) are actually leggings made from denim.   They are styled to look like tight denim jeans, even tighter than skinny jeans.  Jeggings are stretchable, super skinny and comfortable.  They are pretty versatile and you can wear it with a long sweater or a long t-shirt.  Always remember to cover your bum.  Celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Rihanna are seen wearing jeggings these days.   I may get one later but not before I get myself some quick weight loss supplements.
