How To Look Fresh For Fall

Posted by barbara in beauty, women on September 2nd, 2010 |  No Comments »

Summer is ending and the colder days are upon us soon.  Do not let the end of summer blues get to you.  Instead of sitting on the patio chairs to watch the last of the summer days go by, why not do something to look fresh for Fall?  Give yourself an instant facelift by shaping your eyebrow.  Well-groomed eyebrows will make your eyes look wider.  Straight hair is in this Fall.  Get yourself a new haircut and maybe request for a wispy bang.  Straight hair always make women look younger.

Jessica Simpson’s Weight Gain

Posted by barbara in celebrities, health on August 31st, 2010 |  No Comments »

For the past year, we have been seeing Jessica Simpson in her new curvaceous figure.  The 30-year old singer recently revealed about her struggle to stay fit.  Jessica has been quoted repeatedly as saying that she’s not worried about her weight.  For the last year and a half , she has been speaking publicly about society’s views on women and weight on Oprah and her own VH1 show – The Price of Beauty.   She has vowed to use real women with real curve at her Spring 2011 line during Fashion Week.  News of her weight has been in the spotlight again.  She was photographed wearing a tight red dress with a squared-off neckline after attending a Dior beauty luncheon benefitting Operation Smile at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower Hotel.   This photo sparked another round of jokes about her weight.   Well, if you ask me, I think Jessica looks great and who cares if she has gained a few pounds.

i heart big slouchy bags

Posted by barbara in bag on August 29th, 2010 |  No Comments »

Besides silver bars, what I want to get my hands on right now is a slouchy bag. I love big, slouchy hobo bags.  Actually I have been obsessing about them.  They are stylish and chic.  They are also a good and thoroughly practical companion. I find slouchy bags a worthy investment and is a great style for all seasons.   I saw a few nice ones at Target and I am still pondering which one to get for Fall.

Pink Corduroy Pants From Banana Republic

Posted by barbara in fashion, women on August 18th, 2010 |  No Comments »

I was checking out some online schools for my cousin’s daughter when my girlfriend called to tell me that she just bought herself a pair of pink corduroy from Banana Republic.  I was like huh? Pink?  I remember owning a pair of pink pants during my teenage years back in the 80’s but not anymore.  Well, my girlfriend said she really likes it and the pink cord brings back cherished memories of our fun teenage years.  Perhaps I should get a pair for Fall too.  The pink cord looks great when paired with plain white tops.

Watch When Lanes Merge Online

Posted by barbara in Uncategorized, celebrities, entertainment on August 8th, 2010 |  No Comments »

When Lanes Merge is another TVB drama which I cannot wait to watch. I am a big fan of Kent Cheng and I heard this is the first time that Raymond Wong is given the lead actor role.  I have always like Raymond’s acting.   I hope this drama will open more doors for him.  My other favorite casts include Lee Heung Kam, Kate Tsui and Sonija Kwok.

Synopsis

Rushing along the road every day with a vibrant mix of passengers of all kinds, what taxi drivers see and hear is far more varied than one can ever imagine. Retired taxi driver HO KAU (Kent Cheng) returns to the job after his son HO KA-PO (Raymond Wong) is convicted of causing death by dangerous driving. The incident has exacerbated the already fractious relationship between the father and the son. PO works for KAU after his release from prison. Before long, he has another serious road accident, in which KAU is also involved and severely injured, both mentally and physically. PO feels so guilty towards his father and comes to understand the importance of careful driving. He maintains a high degree of vigilance while driving but still gets picked on constantly by female traffic police officer KO LAI-SAM (Kate Tsui). As time goes by, the pair have gradually developed a strong attachment to each other and finally become lovers. But PO’s ex-girlfriend CHEUNG HIU-MAN (Sonija Kwok) and SAM’s grandmother KO LI SHUK-CHING (Lee Heung Kam) turn out to be the biggest obstacle to their relationship, leaving the pair stranded in dismay along the tunnel of love…
